Based on the information that I have gathered from the websites below, it seems that most people know what disposable products generally are, as many people are familiar with ones that are used in public settings, such as parties, as well as products used in the home, like napkins or paper towels. There are many websites and articles that advocate for the dwindling use of disposable products or the stopping of their use in their entirety.
It seems that even though many people are aware of these products, they continue to use them, usually because they’re used to it. There are also many products that claim that they’re sustainable, even though what they’re replacing is also sustainable; replacing a cup with another cup. So the knowledge of what products are is out there, however it remains to be seen whether or not the message is enough to change people’s ways. If you’re passionate about recyling and sustainability, then it is easy to commit yourself to the process of streamlining the use of disposable products, however, if you’re not, it is in theory difficult to change your ways.
